The AI Profit Gap: find the one task to automate first

Admin, missed calls and slow follow-up eat the hours and the money you should be spending on the business. Skip straight to a free 20-minute call, or start the $250 assessment today.

OpsJuice puts AI to work across your business, so you save time, save money and make more money. We find the slow, repetitive jobs, like answering calls and messages, following up with leads, quoting and paperwork, and set up AI to do them for you.

It starts free. On a 20 minute call, Adrien Harrison, our founder, asks how your work flows today and names the first things worth automating. You keep that list whether or not you buy anything. If you want it written down, the $250 assessment is a plain-English report within 48 hours: the 3 to 5 automations worth building first, the tools to use, what each costs and what each should save. It is refunded if you do not feel it was worth the cost.

The call is free, no card, nothing to prepare. The $250 assessment is refunded if you do not feel it was worth the cost.

Hear it answer a call: (640) 837-9084. A demo front desk for a made-up home services company. It takes a message and flags urgent calls. Free, no signup.

Who this is not for. This is not for you if you want a software demo or a finished build today. It starts with finding the one task to automate first.

Adrien Harrison

Adrien Harrison, founder of OpsJuice. Nobody has paid for this assessment yet, so the whole $250 comes back if it was not worth it.

Try it on your own numbers

Free, no email. The three numbers below are a typical one van contractor, not you. Change any of them and the total updates as you type. Nothing you type leaves this page.

About $92,664 a year goes to the next company.

Calls missed, times the share that would have booked, times what one is worth, times 52 weeks. Your own estimate in, your own estimate out.

The talk, in plain English

Adrien Harrison, founder of OpsJuice, gave this talk on September 24, 2026. It is written out here so you can read it in about 5 minutes. The figure in it is my own estimate, not a study and not a client result.

What you will walk away with

  • One number to watch to see whether AI is really doing the work: profit per employee.
  • A 5 factor score for picking the first task to automate.
  • The 5 functions, brain, muscle, workshop, outreach and dashboard, so you choose by job and not by tool.
  • 3 rules to check before you automate anything.

Tomorrow Tony

Tomorrow Tony is the voice in your head that promises everything will be different starting Q1. Tony is not your friend. You are not lazy and you are not behind. You are stuck in the gap between what you want your life to look like and what you spend your days doing.

The pancake

In my talk, you are the pancake. You can be burnt, raw, flat, or golden and fluffy, and golden and fluffy is the goal. Then comes the trap I see next: a great recipe, the world wants it, and you grind yourself to dust personally flipping every single pancake by hand. The answer I gave was a pancake factory that runs itself.

What hand work costs

I told the room that most founders lose about 10 hours a week to admin work. That is my estimate, not a measurement of your business. To size your own, try the missed call calculator. It takes 1 minute and uses your numbers.

Head on fire, buy a brick

There is a Y Combinator line I used in the talk: "If someone's head is on fire, they'll even buy a brick to put it out." That is the bar. Look for the people whose heads are on fire, and bring them the brick.

Profit per employee

This is the best leading indicator I know of whether your AI is working, so watch it monthly. When profit per employee climbs every quarter, AI is doing the work. When it is flat, you are in what Emergence Capital calls mirage product market fit: growth that looks real but is powered by human labor, not by AI.

5 functions, not 5 tools

Do not get attached to specific tools. Tools come and go. Functions are forever. The brain is the AI model that does the thinking. The muscle is the automation tool that carries out what the brain decides. The workshop is where you build new apps by describing them in plain English. Outreach is how you scale sales. The dashboard is where you track what is working.

Painkillers, not vitamins

A vitamin is nice. People take it sometimes, and when the economy gets weird it is the first thing they cancel. A painkiller is needed: people will move heaven and earth for it, and they will pay you on day one. For each task, score 5 things: impact on your North Star, difficulty to automate, frequency per week, urgency, and how big a domino it is. Automate the highest scoring painkiller first.

3 rules before you automate

1. Do not automate before you have product market fit. Fix the painkiller, then automate. 2. Fix the process before you scale it. Pick one process, run it by hand for 2 weeks, document every step, find the friction, fix it, then automate. 3. Do not ignore opportunity cost. Sometimes the human is the right move, so do the math.

A sample report

An illustrative example, not a real client report. Yours is written from your call, with 3 to 5 leaks in this shape.

Leak 1 of 5: Calls and inquiries that ring out

What is happening
A customer calls or writes while you are busy, nobody replies in time, and they try the next company.
The fix
A reply goes back within a minute asking the two questions you need, and the answers land in one list.
What the full report adds
The exact tool, what it costs and what it saves, for your business.

What happens on the call

  1. You describe the work. How it flows today, in your own words. Nothing to prepare.
  2. Adrien names the leaks. Live, while you are on, where time and money are going.
  3. You leave with a shortlist. The first three things worth automating, whether or not you buy anything.

Questions

Is it really free?

The call is free, with no card and nothing to prepare. The resources on opsjuice.com/free are free too, and they ask for your email. The only paid step is the $250 assessment, and you choose it.

What does the $250 assessment get me, and what if it is not worth it?

A written assessment, in your inbox within 48 hours of the call, that names the 3 to 5 automations worth building first, the exact tools to use, what each one costs and what each one saves. If you do not feel it was worth the cost, email info@opsjuice.com and I refund the $250. If we build together afterwards, the $250 comes off your first build.

Will there be a hard sell on the call?

No. The call is the same whether you buy anything or not. You leave knowing the first three things worth automating.

Can you show me results from other businesses?

On the call I show you what I would build for yours. Nobody has paid for the assessment yet, so I have no client names or results to show. This page prints no figures, so there is nothing to check.

Who runs this?

Adrien Harrison, who built OpsJuice to run his own companies. OpsJuice is Echo Collective LLC, 8 East 96th Street, New York, NY 10128.
